Fashionista Matte Bronzer in Tokyo: Swatch and Review

Hey everyone!
I know! A bronzer! And I've only just got used to using my Sephora bronzer which is pale as pale can be. But I'm rather enamoured of this one too.
You may remember a while ago I picked up a Fashionista Palette with four blushers in it, and how much I raved about them then. Well, I've since had the opportunity to try out some new products from Fashionista, and this Matte Bronzer in the shade Tokyo (£4)* is one of them. Again, I really like the palette with it's removable pans that can also be housed individually.

L-R: Tokyo swatched heavily, Tokyo blended out.

I was terrified initially - this bronzer is very pigmented. Using my Real Techniques blush brush, however, I was able to spread the bronzer up over the cheekbone, through the temple and down the nose in what I think is a subtle way. I love this - it adds warmth to the face without looking muddy.

What do you think? What's your favourite bronzer?

  4. Are you wearing foundation in the pictures? Your skin looks amazing! :) I'm really loving my RT blush brush as well, it diffuses product beautifully, like in the case of this pigmented bronzer :)

  5. My favorite bronzer is a mousse one by Maybelline from quite some time ago. Too bad they're no longer available especially since they were pretty affordable!
Now I'm using instead one from The Body Shop that does provide a light glow to my face (I think it's called the "Shimmer Waves Palette")

To be honest, I don't think either of those I've listed can actually beat this one you reviewed! It looks fab on you and just for £4? Yet another reason why I wish I live in the Uk!!

    1. I'm sorry that you can't get this product where you are! Hopefully they'll send it internationally soon :( I haven't tried many Body Shop makeup products but I might have to have a look now! I know, I was surprised that it was so lovely for such a low price!

  7. I'm always terrified of bronzers, don't they all just seem too pigmented?! When I'm watching people on YouTube do their makeup and they swirl their brushes round and round in their bronzer I'm always thinking "HOW THE HECK CAN YOU DO THAT WITHOUT LOOKING LIKE AN OOMPA LOOMPA!?" haha.
But you managed to make this look SO natural, kudos! The bronzer I'm using at the moment is The Balm Bahama Mama, which requires me to use a stippling brush so I don't go overboard!
By the way, you have the world's nicest skin, so jealous :)

    1. Bronzers terrify me too! I think more tan or darker skinned girls can get away with it but I don't fake tan or anything so they always look so dark! But with the RT Blush Brush it doesn't apply really dense, and I just really work on blending it out so it doesn't look muddy. Haha!
Thanks very much! I haven't tried any of the Balm's products yet but I'd love to! And aww, thank you ! Although I assure you that's not the case!
